Superior Achievement on FIRST Rating

Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) is the financial accountability system for Texas school districts developed by the Texas Education Agency in response to Senate Bill 875 of the 76th Texas Legislature in 1999.

Districts are held accountable for the quality of their financial management practices. Each year, TISD strives to manage the financial resources in order to provide the maximum allocation possible for direct instructional purposes.

Once again, Tarkington earned the highest rating of "Superior Achievement" for the year 2007-2008, as it has every year since the system has been in existence.
